Little Julia is tending the baby at home while all of the older children are working at the factory, the Alabama Canning Co. in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. She works there as well, shucking. This is a slightly cropped version of a photograph by American photojournalist Lewis Wickes Hine (1874 – 1940), taken in February 1911.
