Henry Scott Tuke (British, 1858 – 1929) painted this dramatic scene, unfolding on the deck of a ship that is taking on water, with one sail lost in a stormy sea. “All Hands to the Pumps” is an oil on canvas work measuring 1854 x 1397 mm and completed in 1888 or 1889. It is held by the Tate Britain, London.
