
James Ward (English, 1769 – 1859) painted this extraordinary oil-on-canvas landscape, Gordale Scar (A View of Gordale, in the Manor of East Malham in Craven, Yorkshire, the Property of Lord Ribblesdale), circa 1812. It measures 3,327 cm (1,309.8 inches). high by 4,216 cm (1,659.8 inches) wide, and it is held by the Tate Galleries, Britain.
