
Willem van Aelst (Dutch, 1627 – c. 1683) painted “Still Life of Roses, a Carnation and a Sunflower in a Glass Vase, on a Marble Ledge” in 1675. This work in oil on canvas measures 40.1 x 32.1 cm (15 3/4 x 12 5/8 inches), and it was sold at Sotheby’s London in July 2016 for 43,750 GBP.
