Willem van Aelst (Dutch, 1627 – 1683) painted this beautiful bouquet of flowers in an expensive silver vase with a gold timepiece, in 1663 during the Golden Age of Dutch painting. He had lived in Italy and signed his name in Italian. This oil-on-canvas work measures 62.5 cm in height, 49 cm in width, and it is held by Mauritshuis in The Hague, Netherlands.
