László Moholy-Nagy (Hungarian, 1895 – 1946) painted this perfectly balanced Bauhaus abstract, called Z IV, in 1923. This oil-on-canvas work measures 68 by 86 cm (26 3/4 by 33 7/8 inches), and it was sold at Sotheby’s, London, on 19 June 2007, for 804,000 GBP.
